Spread and Level

Spread and Level

It just looks a whole lot more… finished. Was very excited walking around the house today. From “there are still some big things left to do”; to “lots of little things but nearly there”. I mean, there is still grass and carpet which are big things, but shouldn’t really take long.

Minor issue, but will be quickly resolved

Finally the house is wearing it’s finally colours, and a few other things completed.

Roof Cap’n and Paint Mask’n

The roof is finally complete, you can see the capping on the feature wall and the front gutter is installed. Finally, my network cable is no longer hanging out, exposed. I believe the capping was damaged and a replacement had to be ordered. The front feature wall also has masking done, so hopefully they will paint tomorrow.

Gettin’ Laid

Gettin’ Laid

If you didn’t notice the floor yesterday, the laminate has been laid.

And the cement has been laid (poured) today as well.

And the roof edges are here (I think originally they got damaged) and rope is ready for fibre.

Back to Work

Back to Work

So now that the holidays are over, everyone has been getting back to work. Including a number of contractors on the house.

The Plumbers

Electricians

Concreters

And Others

Did you notice the flooring?

Carpet still to be done.

Merry Housmas

Merry Housmas

A few odds and ends to round out the year before the holidays. Went past on Christmas Eve and was surprised with a small shopping list of changes.

Starting in the kitchen, the oven is installed and so is the tap. You can see the empty toilet box, which there are two off, so they are in. Power points have been installed in some of the house. Wardrobe doors are in. And downpipes have had some more work done that they are now ready for landscaping to be done.

And there are plenty of deliveries waiting. Hot water system, the plate for it to sit on, towel rails, overhead for stove and possibly more. All waiting to be ‘un-wrapped’ after the holidays.

The forgotten update

The forgotten update

So it turns out that I forgot to post an update on the 11th… So, let me get you caught up on that, and then what I saw different today.

And to summarise, the major works was the drainage and the security screens. Still a few finishing things to do. But today, the rendering is now done. Which should mean the outside is ready for painting.

Can’t see in

Can’t see in

All the windows are covered up by the painters. Which is definitely a good stage to be at. And there was some workers putting in the downpipes into the ground. Hope to get a better view later in the week.

Hopefully some strokes soon

The house across the road appears to be all painted and the render is supposed to be done on Monday (thanks to the neighbour talking to all the tradies). But lets appreciate the work done by a couple of blokes, really clean and looks good.

Step Inside

Step Inside

It was rather exciting and a bit surreal to be walking around and imagining where things would be. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
